But if you want to find pure-pure turkmens those are from Mary region (my grandfather was born there),the rest are mixed usually,but mixed between tribes,not nations :)

all of this tribes are pure turkmens,actually Yomud is more populated than Tekke.But only Tekke is known widely i guess because it is easier to track them down :rolleyes:
Ersari is least populated tribe,funny thing is,each tribe looks different,I mean you can tell which one is which...i always found that interesting :)

what book by Erich Maria Remarque are you reading? :) I remember reading his "triumfal'naya arka" many years ago, but cannot remember the main idea. he is a good writer :lool: can't you tell by how easily i can remember the novel? I think he is brilliant writer :),I read some of his books,but not all of them :(,right now Im reading "Жизнь Взаймы",its a story about lady who escaped from health resort and was waiting for death to catch up with her any day but instead it was her partner who died first...

I usually ask my friends or cousin to purchase books for me from St. Petersburg store on Brighton (or MosFilm...or RBC,can't remember exact name of the store :uups: ),and then they ship it to me...
or another much convinient option is to search for books through university library (some libraries has joint catalogs and you can order books from another university or college)

if you have never read Zola -- Emile Zola -- I highly recommend it :). I read Tereze Raquin when I was like 13. my dad was really worried. When he saw me reading it, he was -- "eh, maybe you should read this when you are 16+", I was like -- "well, I am almost done" :lool: My dad was like :shock: Anyhow, Tereza Raquin is a nice novel. I cannot remember the other interesting novel by Zola, but if you like reading about poverty, depression and socialism -- Jerminal is a book for you :). He describes poverty so well, that you become a socialist. :) But if you do not want to read sad stories -- than after Tereza Raquin -- Flobert's "Madam Fobari" would be the best continuation :).

Now your turn: give me some suggestions :) I have a couple of days off after December 28th. So I want to read really nice novel. Any ideas?

if you have never read Zola -- Emile Zola -- I highly recommend it. I read Tereze Raquin when I was like 13. my dad was really worried. When he saw me reading it, he was -- "eh, maybe you should read this when you are 16+", I was like -- "well, I am almost done" :lool: My dad was like :shock: Anyhow, Tereza Raquin is a nice novel. I cannot remember the other interesting novel by Zola, but if you like reading about poverty, depression and socialism -- Jerminal is a book for you :). He describes poverty so well, that you become a socialist. :) But if you do not want to read sad stories -- than after Tereza Raquin -- Flobert's "Madam Fobari" would be the best continuation :).

Now your turn: give me some suggestions :) I have a couple of days off after December 28th. So I want to read really nice novel. Any ideas?

Thats my personal conclusion I made from similar experience. I am telling this to you as I see you are going through a phase which is a bit familiar to me. So, take it with pinch of salt, after doing the above I felt good, my life got back on track and I am now enjoying every part of my life.

Believe me or not but You have to enjoy your life, at the end of the day you live it only once, be yourself and act with your senses all the time. As dying as if you never lived is not presumably what you want, you want to leave something that reminds of you all the time.

Yes,unfortunately I have learned to ignore some stuff (minor and major) and block out some people,pleasant and unpleasant.
Too bad I have learned it so early in life (I was about 13 then),but it did come in handy at times.

My former classmate found me on website similar to facebook...i was so shocked to learn that most of my classmates are already married.It came as utter shock,my first thought was "so typical :rolleyes:" and then I realized that I have different upbringing then them,I was never meant to live in TM,my destiny has been set somewhere else.
It has been as if I was watching a movie about another world,I realized how much my lifestyle and values has changed...

Edwidge Dandicat’s story revolves around a small family of three living in rural area of a small island of Haiti. It is obvious to see that the family is struggling to survive and to make their “ends meet” The main idea of the story circles around young boy who has gotten the part of Boukman in a play dedicated to revolution. It is clear to see that this boy has some potential because he is running around and reciting the speech given by Boukman. The main character of the story, however, is the father of this young boy, Guy. He is a man who does any work to keep his little family alive and well. On the day that he doesn’t have a job his wife Lili prepares them some “special sweet water tea”, technically she boils some sugar canes because sugar/glucose gives the body the energy and proteins to work. But as any man Guy wants to be someone. He lives his life, he has a wife and a son but it is all as if he failed at it; they are extremely poor- he can’t provide them with enough food, he doesn’t sleep with his wife (physically or intimately) because there is a risk of her getting pregnant and they can’t afford to feed another baby, they barely have food for themselves; his son is becoming more educated and much smarter than Guy himself. Everything Guys has is the opposite of what any man would want, he even tells his wife that on page 425 in quote “…I’d like to sail off somewhere and keep floating until I got to a really nice place with a nice plot of land where I could be something new. I’d build my own house, keep my own garden. Just be something new.” In other words he wants a life that is completely different from the one he has got now. But when his wife asked him if he would take them (her and their son) with him- Guy didn’t respond because he probably meant new life with new everything, a chance to start over, be somebody. And that negligence was the turning point for Lili, because when Guy jumped off the balloon she was indifferent because she knew that she and her son meant little or even nothing to Guy. I think that was the reason she said “he belonged to me”, after he jumped and his body laid couple of feet away from her, if she cared for him would she refer to him as an inanimate object? If they did mean anything to him wouldn’t he have taken them to the air balloon with him?
Also the fact that Guy couldn’t find a stable job and that he had enlisted in “the list” for a job in the factory made him (Guy) feel less than he could have become. He did want to enlist his son for a job in the factory but when his wife Lili has asked not to he had objected at first but after she pleaded repeatedly he had given in. He did want his son to grow up and become someone who he (Guy) could never be.

Most of the class answered LA and Hollywood,one guy said a ranch in Texas (:?),however she help up my paper and said "One person did stand out of the crowd...while each and every one of you wrote about "cribbs" you would have and amount of money you would spend on cars she wrote about peace and queit that no amount of money can buy." She then read me essay out loud (which embarassed me beyond any point) and every student looked at m as if I was a lunatic :lol:,you wonder what I wrote about?:)
