Stumbled upon this article today, "Top 3 World's Most Expensive Beer" (http://www.dailycognition.com/index.php/2007/11/26/top-3-worlds-most-expensive-beer.html).
Here's another one called, "32 Things You Can Do with Beer" (http://men.msn.com/guides/drinkarticlemh.aspx?cp-documentid=3872767).

I think its common knowledge that after women, beer is the greatest gift to men!

My personal all-time favorite is Guinness. Paulaner is also excellent. Out of Russian beers I like Tinkoff, and Sokol.

TOPIC: Title is self-explanatory. What is your favorite brand of beer? Anything new you've tried recently that you'd recommend? What is your favorite snack/food that you like to combine with beer? If you know of any places in your area where they serve or brew good beer, let us know.

San Miguel tastes like a juice to me. :? I like Guinness! I can drink loads of it, goes smooth into the stomach and I dont get drunk at all.

I sometimes drink Stella when the club does not do Guinness.

I like one Polish beer but I cant remember the name. I will write it down once I remember.

as for places: when in kiev we ocasionally goes for genuine belgian Leffe, Hoegarden, Stella here
http://www.belle-vue.com.ua/beer/

otherwise Krusovitsa, Pilsner Urqel, Staropramen, Warsteiner are good from supermarkets

from local ukrainian beers: Оболонь Премиум and Чернигивске are goodies - as me writes me drinks Чернигивске Биле Нефильтроване (also there are many other brewers like Славутич, Рогань, Львивске, etc, but they are so-so)

Surprisingly "Львивске" is not good in bottles, but it doesn't compare with freshly brewed liquid in Музей Пивовариння of "Львивьский Завод Пивовариння" down in city of Lviv.

Me has a pride of visiting that place! :D

That's an interesting point you brought up. Indeed, not only beer, but also other Ukrainian alcoholic beverages are becoming very strong players in the market. Now, I haven't tried their beer recently enough to remember its quality, but I do know that Ukrainian vodka is much better than Russian.

I've heard a lot about Оболонь beer. I need to try it some time.

Budweiser Budvar - is a product of Ceske Budejovice(a region of CR), http://www.budvar.cz/web/index.html, and this is not so much-favoured whithin the country. You can drink this beer in Germany if you are close to the one of following addresses: http://www.budvar.cz/en/web/Kde-se-toci-Budvar/Budvar-ve-svete.html

I prefer the beer "Pilsner Urquell" which is the most popular czech beer in the world(as I know Bill Klinton like this beer ;)) http://www.prazdroj.cz/en/,

Also, the beer in CR is very cheap, it is cheaper than normal water, many international students come to CR especially to drink beer, not for study :D

That's surprisingly interesting.Ukrainian vodka is better that Russian ones?No way. If you really think so, you haven't tried the real vodka. Vodka is originally Russian and always will be Russian. Even those Absolute, Svedka is nothing in front of Stoli,or other Russian vodka's.

As for beer, I like the freshly brewed ones. But when buying from a store, Corona Extra is worth trying, if you want to be classic Heineken is good. Man, Stella Artois and Guinness top in my faves list anyways.
I don't know if you guys remember, but back home when buying freshly brewed beer, for a chaser they give our Uzbek Qurutop. That's funny, but I like it, it tastes different with it.

Oh by the way, recently I have tried that Japanese beer called Sapura, canned like a high-end Japanese car with sharp edges. I have to say, Germans have some competition now.

Czechs are the best to visit for keg drinking. Beer is so cheap there, I don't know how do they manage to do such good beer for such good price? A friend of mine from Prague always puts me down with his beer stories.
