Well it really depends... If you're talking about the best sightseeing place then Paris is a "primus inter pares" city, undoubtedly. If you're talking about the city as a whole, then it's a matter of taste and your comments are quite reasonable. Just be careful...;)

My choice:

Best city to visit: Amsterdam
Best city to live (in terms of infrastructure, facilities, cleanliness, etc.): Stockholm
Best city to live (in terms of social atmosphere, people, etc.): Dublin
Best sighseeing: Paris (then Vienna, Prague, Rome and Krakow)

Definitely recommend Istanbul, food is awesome and people are very hospitable.

Copenhagen, DK - very clean, multicultural.

Island of Crete, Greece. There is a city called Hania. Red fish is the way to go for the dinner. Oranges are the best fruit from Crete. Greeks drive crazy, so be careful with stickshift rental car.

And of course, London is the place one shouldnt miss while visiting Europe.
British Museum, London Zoo and London Eye.

One of my close friends from childhood lives in Portugal on the coast, and he tells me that i should visit that place, its gorgeous.

I would advise you indeed Spain and Italy and maybe Portugal as well.
France (not Paris - didnt like it) - romantic places and castles and south of France.

After me;
The most beautiful city is Florence in Italy.
The most picturesque city is Nice in France.
The city which resemble allot to Izmir(Turkey) is Thessalonikhi in Greece.
The city where I felt myself uncomfortable was Vienna in Austria.

By saying "Macedonia" i assume that u mean FYROM.(Issue of the name has been under negotiation of two parts in international FORA,and has not been resolved yet) Thank you!

Hey, señor El Greco, there is no issue with the name of Macedonia, only the Greeks are making fuss about it and are giving headache to the rest of the world with their stubbornness and silliness, and it's silly because after all FYROM stands for Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.

Anyway, back to OP: when you ask such a question you should make clear what your tastes are, there are different best places for different things. Greece as a whole possesses stunning natural beauty, a lot history and for the most part people are nice and generous.

I insist that there is an open issue and of course a dialogue on the matter of the name. Maybe it is stubborness and siliness as u say, but tell me which country demonstrates that the name and history of Macedonia are entirelly its copyright. Are Greeks or neighbours? Our neighbour country claims that even Alexander the Great was not Greek, fact that even a child of 1st grade knows that it is not true. After all Greece has proposed a name for this country to show good will and to avoid confussion in the future, name that includes "macedonia"

As for FYROM(Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia), we all know that name was made up by president Tito, cause he was Croatian and wished to undermine the role and power of Serbs in Yugoslavia as well as Bulgarian's who claimed that so called Yugoslavian republic of macedonia was in fact Bulgarian territory(they still claim). I have many friends from FYROM and i kindly asked them to tell me if one of their granfathers or granmothers called 80 years ago this area Macedonia,or whether if they have heard so. No one but noone was able to say yes.

One of my friends who went to Paris loved it because 2 things are much cheaper than London in there: shopping and eating
The other one didn't like it saying that it was not that beautiful as she was expecting, and that London is gorgeous comparing to there.

I've never been in any other European country rather than UK, even in TR/Istanbul, although I've been promised sooooo many times. :( The answer I got everytime is "it's not time. there're lots of things to do. u can't have holidays yet. bla bla..." :(
