in Uzbekistan people usually give three types of names, according to my observation. I might be wrong though.

1. Arab-Muslim names like Said, Abdulla, Muhammad, Akbar, Abdughani, Abduqahhor, Abdulatif, Yusuf, Sayfiddin and etc(for boys). Arab names database you can also find on the internet. Sometimes Uzbeks also use these names with non-Arab suffixes
like -khon, -jon, -bek, -khoja or prefixes like said-, sho- and etc. -khon in this case is better to use with girls' names, although in Fergana valley it can also be used for males (it sounds too gay to me personally). These are status names. Like -jon is for ordinary people, and others for those who were pilgrims, imams, rulers and mayors or related to Mohammedan tree.

Then, there are a lot of old Persian (Parsa or Sanskrit) names like Rustam, Farrukh, Bakhtiyor, Dilshod, Khurshid (male names), and girls names like Dilnoza, Nigora, Nigina, Shohista(Sanskrit). You can also find them searching on internet for Persian names, or you may look for Avesta-Zoroastrian names - all are given with their meanings, i guess. and then you can come back to us and ask if it is fine, because some of those names are too archaic and none uses them anymore. Tricky a bit.

And third, usually in rural areas people give names like Temur, Otabek, Tesha, Bolta (:-) the last two better not) for boys. These are the names that are difficult to put into categories above :D. One can also use Uzbek adjectives as names - that is personal qualities - like Jasur, Botir for brave and strong.

So I think this is the direction you could look into.

I personally like Jakhongir, Rustam, Farkhod, Dilshod, Sukhrob, Sardor for boys. they are simple names, ordinary Uzbeks are sometimes a bit superstitious when it comes to names - a strong and beautiful name, might be too "heavy" for the kid causing illnesses and so on they say.

For girls i like Yasmina, Sogdiana, Rushana, Nigora, Gavhar, Feruza. Btw, I tend towards Parsa names so i gave some of them above.

I named him is "EMRAN",that name was found from kuran's second sure "Al Emran".
So,i am very glad to tell you all! And i will spend my all for my family!
