Do you guys know how to prepare neutral chemical solution?
I know that solution having equal amounts of H and OH ions called neutral.
But don't know how to prepare it.
I need to make neutral 0.5M (mol) KCL solution.
Any help is appreciated:)

Titrate your 50 ml of 0.5M HCl solution with 50 ml of 0.5M KOH.

Can you please describe more detailly, how exactly perform titration?
Can I confirm it by checking the PH value of the solution?
For example: I make 0.5M KCL solution and add 0.5M KOH while measuring PH value.

Depends how clean your KCl is to begin with?
If it is clean you don't need to titrate anything, just take 0.5 mol of it and dissolve to make 1000ml solution (or any combination like 0.25:500ml, 0.125: 250ml) using deionised water (not in 1000ml water).

So, If I just make 0.5M KCL solution in DI water, it would give neutral KCL solution?

yes, if it does not contain much impurities.

just gradually add your 50 ml of 0.5M KOH to 50 ml 0.5M HCl (not KCl).

yes u can; but theoretically, if there are equal amounts of acid and base, the solution should be neutral.
For example: I make 0.5M KCL solution and add 0.5M KOH while measuring PH value.
Actually, it depends what ingredients u have. and if u want make this solution from the scratch, better to consider the unexpensive way.

no offence but i don't think you are right
1) when he mixes 50ml of 0.5M KOH with 50ml 0.5M KCl he will get a very basic solution, his pH will be near 14, he needs neutral
2) if you meant 50ml 0.5M KOH to mix with 50ml 0.5M HCl, then this will result in neutral KCl solution, but it will be 0.25M not 0.5M as he requires.
NaOnan, don't you have a handbook of inorganic, or physical chemistry in your library, they are usually very helpful in these types of things.

oh yea, sorry mistyped HCl istead of KCl;)

Thank you for your responses.
Actually, usually I use molar or Wt% solutions for my experiments, but this time I have read a paper where they use neutral molar solution, so I was a bit curious.
I will try your suggestions and post the result.
