View Full Version : Is it possible to find a work if i will be granted to PhD without scholarship

Hello Everybody,

I was planning to apply to PhD in London and I think
they cannot provide with scholarship, therefore what do you think
will i be able to find a work there to liv and earn some..

You will need to find a work, where working part time you would be earnign around 20000 gbp a year, that is about 12000 for your tuition fees and 8000 for all the other expences.

I wouldn't recommend that, coz PhD is a serious thing and you would have to devote all of your time to succeed and meet expectations of your supervisors. Try to find a scholarship or studentship even though it's not an easy task.

i agree. when i was trying to apply for phd, i gave a second thought. no way you can involve in other jobs, because you will have to do tons of academic job.

A PhD without scholarship is a hell of work. Unless you get hired for lecturing and research activities in your institute.

I donno how it works in UK but in Germany as soon as you find a professor who is interested in your research proposal, finding a scholarship is not a problem.
