Hello guys
I have a problem that seems I can't solve at my own. I'm working for a multinational company in one of CIS countries. Now we need some promotional products, which appear to be more profitably to be produced within CIS. Namely I need several thousand plastic (polystyrene) appliances (similar to clothespin, but for toothbrushes). When I have started searching if someone in the country where I'm working now could produce it, one man said that most of plastic items of such kind have been imported from Uzbekistan. Nevertheless when I tried to find somebody in Uzbekistan who can help me with this I failed. Do you have any idea on this? I think the one of the major problems our producers meet on their way to external market besides the poor quality is the poor marketing and informational support. What if some of one of multiple government supported authorities (like a chamber of commerce) will open a site with an index of producers and a list of what they could produce (if you know address let me know pls)? I tried www.yellowpages .uz… but it was empty. This is not the first time when I encounter this problem. 2-3 years ago when I did want to start my own business I couldn't find if someone in Uzbekistan could provide me with necessary raw materials.
BTW have you seen an advertising of UzDaewooAuto on Russian NTV? “I like uzbeks..” Quite funny.
