God Is Almighty - by Brother Dries From South Africa.
This is the man we saw seated in a wheelchair when we went to do the "LNA presentations" at the Customs offices in Zeerust [Dries Hattingh is a customs official]. He got a virus when he went to investigate a truck loaded with cattle at the Kopfontein border post, to make sure that there was no illegal transportation involved with the cattle-laiden truck, and he got the virus at that point in time, now 3 years ago. The cattle were carrying a virus which started to attack Dries, affecting his muscles, sinews, and nerves. The virus ate away in his body to such an extent that he could not use his muscles any longer. It was like a muscle disorder disease. He did not have the use of his muscles like the ordinary healthy human being. Dries had now become an invalid, living in a wheelchair. Seeing him in the wheelchair, riddled with pain, I felt sorry for him, especially after he told me that the medical assistance and each doctor involved could do nothing for him; there was no cure! During that point in time, Dries was experiencing much pain and suffering. [The above paragraph is from sister Cynthia, a lady who saw Dries in his ill-fated condition, wheelchair bound in Zeerust].
Here is his testimony: a miracle took place ...
I cannot tell you how wonderful Jesus is to us. The Lord heard every prayer I uttered. It is wonderful to walk again. Don't feel proud of me for it is not I who made this happen, that I walk again. We have to thank our Lord Jesus Christ for this miracle. Miracles happen daily in this world but we walk around blindfolded and do not see His work taking effect around us. On the 5th June 2006 we had our Pentecostal service, and I was the computer operator for the music. I was playing the song Agnus Dei, by Michael W. Smith, and it was nearing the end of the track. The right hand which was operating the pc mouse started to move in an upwards direction, and it felt like a cramp in my hand.
During this upward movement of my hand, I started experiencing the "pins-and-needles" feeling going throughout my body. I decided to replay the song again, and went to the front of the church, to where the reverend was standing, and I asked him; "Izaan, pray for me. I want to get up out of this wheelchair tonight." All the reverend did was utter "Shoo! ", and just stood still for approximately three minutes, as if he were in deep thought. He finally laid his hands on me and started to pray. I felt the Holy Spirit moving inside of me. I tried lifting myself out of the wheelchair, but the reverend told me to wait. After about 30 seconds, it felt like someone was lifting me up, and when I looked, I was up and standing. The reverend took hold of my hands and asked me to start walking with him. My feet started moving. Hildè, my wife, and I started to cry from the joy that overcame us. The whole congregation started to cry with me, experiencing the same joy as I did. My children were in the children's room and a lady went and called them, telling them to come and see me walking. My eldest daughter, Bèhanke [8], was running down the aisle and all I could hear her saying was, "Thank you Jesus, thank you! " My wife was so shocked that all she did was cry, and could mot move at all.
The twins were also crying when they saw their dad walking, but they were still very young to truly understand that their father used to walk before. Our Lord God opened peoples' eyes in this time. I cannot thank the Lord our God enough for what He did to me - healing me. The 3 years thereafter were traumatic and very difficult for me and my wife, but our Lord Jesus heard our cries and He released us from these circumstances, from these trying times. I do not walk in pain any longer, not in my legs or hips; nothing, all gone [has been walking for a year already]. The doctor and the physiotherapist were astounded and flabbergasted when they saw my condition. My muscles are very stiff, and when I walk far or long distances, I am tired and feel lame in my legs. God is giving me strength each day, and each day He gives me more of it, and I am walking further and further. I trust God, and His work in me is not yet completed. This miracle proved medical personnel all wrong, since they said I would never walk again. But faith in our Lord Jesus Christ restores us. You can decide for yourself what you want to do with this testimony, to show the world that God still heals people, that miracles do happen in our times, or just leave it. Enjoy a lovely day ahead, and remember the blessings of the Lord are upon you.
Jesus said to them
JOHN 10:38
But if I am doing them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father."
