Sydney Olympic Games champion Muhammadkodir Abdullaev entered the ring with Uzbek flag and karnay-surnay ringing out amazed 6 thousands spectators in Las Vegas on April 6.
On the undercard, 2000 Olympic gold medalist Mohammad Abdulaev of Uzbekistan made a successful pro debut with a four-round unanimous decision over Mahon Washington.
Muhammadkodir Abdullaev began to dominate early in the first round and peppered his opponent Washington with power punches till the end. Abdulaev, who captured gold in the light welterweight division in Sydney, was given a 40-36 edge on all three scorecards.
Mukhammadkodir Abdullaev remains in the history as a first professional boxer in USA. Abdulaev’s first victory in professional boxing brought celebration to the Uzbek fans.
