Hi everybody!

Here is one more feedback on the Uzbek version of Umid Web site as well as the first page. It's very nice, that webmasters found time and made efforts to produce the Uzbek version. The language is O.K. as well, except some mistakes in spelling. One comment Where is that sweet baby on the main page???

Maxmud, even the origin of that baby is unknown, as you wrote in your message, that pic was more suitable for the page named "Umid", as it stands for the hope to the future.

Webmasters, could you return BABY, please?

Guys,
I believe, you have done a great job with changing the main entrance page, and I repeat, I consider it a step up from the previous one.

I assume, the main problem with people here demanding the return of the baby is the change in general. Much like it was with the replacement of the <font color="red">insidetheweb.com</font> Message Boards by the UltraBoards.

However, I believe, you can find a valid solution here as well. I would recommend putting the picture of the "baby, the unbeknownst" somewhere in this site, and post the link here, so the fans of it can go there, download and/or just enjoy watching it beyond limit, while pleasing their infantile tendencies. :)

Now, keep your fingers crossed, guys, I have put in a word for you. So, hopefully, it is not in the remote future that you can enjoy the magnificient view of "Da Baby". (Following this pattern, I will not be much surprised if the baby-fans will claim a new Message Board for themselves.) :)

Maxmud. We do remeber about our past, the past of our Motherland, coz that's history, coz nu kak my tam govorim, bez proshlogo net budush'ego. But putting the pic of the kid was more original than placing the pic of one of ancestors. I repeat, more original, coz this kind of stuff (i mean pics of forefathers and all that) has already been used almost everywhere, and pages teem and swarm with them.

And this has nothing to do with so-called "baby-fan" thing. Yesli delo bylo v etom ya by sama kuda nibud' etu fotku vpihnula-by, would open/download it time after time and would please my infantile tendencies, kak ty govorish.

I deem, placing the present picture is not step up, but step down. Guys, I beleive you can find smth. more original, really.

I feel sorry if my view-point on this differs from yours.

Now, aside from jokes and sentiments, maybe it's time we got reasonable and realized that this site is no longer just a place where all of us hang out, but also a representation of intellectual properties Uzbek students possess.

Therefore, it surprises me how stirred emotions got about the very timely and appropriate change.

Honestly, my personal opinion is that the previous image ("Baby") is appropriate for some kindergarten homepage, or, at best, a middle school.

And now that the current image got more close to reflect the content and the spirit of the site, the more I am surprised to see discontent with that.

I see no reason why it should have gone so far, to the extent someone suggested voting on this issue. Yeah, I can imagine hoards of umidies rushing to vote for this "ultimately critical" issue.

Well, once we got to this point, maybe it would be more appropriate to start a contest for the (yet) best replacement? Because, for Lord's sake, let's face it, the image of a baby was far from original!!!

I know, some may well remember that we have done something like this before (on this very Message Board, as far as I remember) - to no avail, however.

Maybe the supporters of the "baby" have better ideas as to what the image should be? Let us hear them! Let them post their suggestions-images here!

I hope this will help settle this rather cumbersome issue.

Namuncha babyga yopishvoldila, mayli yahshi edi-ku lekin bittasiga Umid websitini ko'rsatganimda haligi bola Kim u o'ris bola dib so'radi :), to'g'risini aytsam nima deyishniyam bilmiy qoldim...
Agar bu Umidchilarga yoqadigan bo'lsa ana shu haqida poll qilsa bo'ladi.
Manimcha hozirgi turgan poll bema'ni. Nima digan gap bu Kim prezident bo'lishini hohlardiz?!
Undan ko'rasi hech bo'maganda konvertatsiya haqidagi savolni qo'yish kerak edi.

PS. yana 1-2 ta joyda tarjima uncha yahshi qilinmagan chamamda, keyinroq aniqroq qilib yozarman.

Mda...did not imagine that there would be so many responses. Here are some of the details of the work

1) The front image was created by Ravshan (he still wanted to keep the baby :))
2) The translation was made mostly by Sherzod, some part of it by Ravshan and the worst part with most grammar errors by me :) So if you see pretty bad Uzbek, blame me ! :D
3) The design and creation of the actual pages was done by me.

I don't know what to say about putting the baby back, but some of you did not like it and we'll probably have the next voting on whether we should put the baby back or have the current one ;)

I totally agree with Alisher on his suggestions about creating a French, German and Japanese versions, but there is a small problem - none of us here know any of these languages :(
So, if you guys really want those versions, you should translate the whole site and e-mail me at admin@mail.umid.uz. It will take about 2-3 weeks to get those done.

If you have more suggestions or comments, please let any of our design team members know !

MegaZ, I hope you understand that there is no reason and need to waste time on voting on such things like what pictures to put and what pictures to not. There are more important things than this (of course if you have plenty of time...). I do not even think that this issue should be considered. Change is always good even if it is inconvenient for some people. Why to go back?...

As Nasim mentioned, I still want to keep baby, but as he is already 3 years old, looking for little bit older photo of him :) but still no luck. Hopefully i will redesign front page by next weekend by putting photo of our ancestors and baby :)

We do not want Umid World to be Official Place. It is good idea to have Prezident's picture in official page of UMID. Umid World is concerned to be "free world" where you can relax, discuss different topics being away from your home. Take care.

Really impressed with new Feedback, admins tried a lot to create new image of UMID - the simbol of Tamerlan.

But I do not think Amir Temur reflects the activity of our foundation, morever the picture of medivial conqueror reminds of cults of the totalitarian regymes, has nothing to do with UMID foundation.

I have nothing against ou forefather Amir Temur, but his portrait on the Entry of UMID irrelevant(It could stay somewhere in the w/page of the history of Timurids etc., maybe in subboard history/mэ motherland?!).

The last symbol - baby was somehow corresponded with the word UMID, babies are always HOPE for future.

I have following proposals on the image of UMID

1. Feedback should have direct relationship with objectives and activity of Foundation
2. It must be modern and serious
3. Should provide general idea of the foundation
4. Has to attarct different groups of interested visitors.

Menimcha, umuman hech kimning rasmi qoyilmasa yaxshiroq bo`lsa kerak. Chunki bir vaqt doxiy bo`lgan odam bir kun kelib xalq dushmaniga chiqadi yoki vice versa. Uning o`rniga bir abstraktroq narsa bo`lsa yaxshiroq bo`lsa kerak.

I see mate, but Amir Timurs picture is conerned UW to be "free world" where you can relax and so on isn't it? In this case would you like to put some pic about Bibihanum or Navoi or whatever? would you like to take some characters from literature, philosophy, astronomy and so on? UZB has a lot of them... not only A.Timur. That was just my view and I would suggest do not take it personally.the first reason writing me here was when you got out this child - that was nice and relaxing. You, as ADMINISTRATORS can do what ever you decide right to do so, you created all this WORLD, now - this is your choice and your decision.
