ASIAN ALL-STARS 0 IRAN 5 (03)

Tehran, 21 January 2000 -
As evident from the scoreline, Iran had a fairly easy time in this match against an under strength Asian All-Stars side who did not have the services of players like Hidetoshi Nakata.

Iran fresh from a recent 1-1 draw against the United States, started off on a aggressive note with captain Ali Daei spearheading the attack. Ali Daei started the goalscoring in the 20th minute when he received a pass from Karim Bahgeri in the box to head the ball home.

He was on target again when he sneaked in another goal past an Asian All-Stars side, which was rather weak in defense.

The All-Stars -side got only two real shots at goal in the first half but failed to make headway. It was the home team that knocked in another goal just before the breather when Ali Mousavi broke through the All-Stars defense and let loose a shot that shook the netting.

The Asian All-Star's side failed to get their act together after lemon time and were kept on the defensive throughout the second half. A missed penalty by Esan Salem in the second half added to the team's woes.

As it was, Ali Daei contributed another goal for his side and with Sirous Din-Mohammadi netting another, IR Iran won the cheers of their fans. Goals scored
Ali Daei (IRN #10) 20', Ali Daei (IRN #10) 22', Ali Mousavi (IRN #16)44', Sirous Din-Mohammadi (IRN #9) 46', Ali Daei (IRN #10) 82'.
