KUALA LUMPUR (March 29) XINHUA - Uzbekistan's Navbakhor(of Namangan) has gained a lucky berth in the semifinals of the Asian
Cup Winners' Cup in Thailand following the withdrawal of Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli.
The club, which lost 6-3 on aggregate to Al Ahli in the quarter- finals, won their second chance in the tournament after the Asian
Football Confederation received official confirmation that Al Ahli had pulled out from the competition.
Thailand is staging the semifinals on April 13 and the final two days later.
Navbakhor will take on Al Zawra of Iraq in the semifinals for the right to take on either Shimizu S-Pulse of Japan or Bangkok
Bank in the final in Chiangmai, northern Thailand.
