2002 World Cup Korea/Japan - Asian World Cup qualifying tournament
Group 1 - Oman, Syria, Laos, Philippines
Group 2 - Iran, Tajikistan, Myanmar, Guam
Group 3 - Qatar, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Palestine
Group 4 - Kuwait, Singapore, Bahrain, Kyrgyzstan
Group 5 - Thailand, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, Pakistan
Group 6 - Iraq, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Macau
Group 7 - Uzbekistan, Jordan, Turkmenistan, Chinese Taipei
Group 8 - United Arab Emirates, India, Yemen, Brunei
Group 9 - China, Indonesia, Maldives, Cambodia
Group 10 - Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Mongolia
The 10 group winners will be drawn into two groups of five teams. The winner of the two groups qualify directly for the final competition of the 2002 World Cup Korea/Japan. The two teams which are runners-up in the two second round groups compete in a play-off on a home-and-away basis to qualify for the play-off with Europe.
The nine UEFA runners-up will be put into one pot. Four European play-off pairings (home-and-away) will be drawn. The winners qualify for the final competition of the 2002 World Cup Korea/Japan. The remaining UEFA runner-up will contest the play-offs (home-and-away) against the third-placed AFC team. The winner will qualify for the final competition of the 2002 World Cup Korea/Japan.
I personally think, Uzbekistan kicks asses of the above teams, But in the second round i don't know. Anyways, what I proudly say is: GO UZBEKISTAN!!!!!!
